12/22/17: progress and reading plans for next time

1. Today, VK reported on his status and plans. He would like DB to send the link to the Wikipedia page that links to comprehensive data on all space missions. It is:
He reported that planet4589.org is maintained by a single person, but seems to be reliable enough that UCS relies on it. It is not clear yet if it is consistent with the wikipedia data (or if it draws from it, or vice versa).

2. We discussed: http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7389270/ (Really Really Big Data: NASA at the forefront of Analytics) It needs pay acess. HA will be writing up notes on this per our discussion.

3. HA plans to send us his writeups on that paper and the four we discussed last week for our comments before adding it to his source document.

4. For next time we will read and discuss some items HA identified last time:
  1. https://venturebeat.com/2014/10/05/how-big-data-is-fueling-a-new-age-in-space-exploration/
  2. https://analyticsindiamag.com/big-data-advances-fuelling-space-exploration/
  3. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7389270/ (Really Really Big Data: NASA at the forefront of Analytics) It needs pay acess. (we already discussed it this time)

Meeting 12/15/17: Lots of readings!

Today we discussed the following articles:
HA plans to update our source document with comments that were made during the discussion. Thanks!

For next meeting, we will read and discuss the following articles, found by HA:

RS suggests the following article:

VK sent two articles about space investment:
  • https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/1605b6e32d867f4d (that link will probably only work for DB but we can fix that as needed)

VK also sent two readings regarding human space flight:

A blog to record our project as it progresses!

Hopefully this blog will be a useful resource for us as we collaborate.
