Agenda & Minutes
1. Status reports. RS reports that WMSCI is virtual this year. MH reports progress on his paper. PT is completing the application, working on a moving window averaging functionality. DB showed some graphs he developed, illustrating exponential increase in lifetime using moving window averaging, and illustrating the difference between charting lifetime as a function of launch (more generally, manufacture) date, and as a function of failure date.
2. Literature discussion: We reviewed page 2 of this last time. Last time we discussed Strain Your Brain exercise 1 from part II. This was not followed up today due to lack of time.
3. Future potential agenda items planned: We may in the future discuss this on distributional forecasts. Should we find a MS student to apply this method to space exploration? Also Superexponential Long-term Trends in Information Technology by Nagy et al. looks very interesting to discuss.
